Our Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga TCTSY services include:
  • Individual one on one sessions as an adjunctive and complimentary treatment for PTSD and complex developmental trauma.  These sessions are designed for people who are engaged in therapy or who have access to therapy to allow for clients to be supported through the process of understanding their body in relation to trauma.  Offered in Red Hill & Samford Psychology practice
  • Tailored programs for clients accessing a range of organisations, hospitals, and services.
  • Information sessions & Group classes
  • Sessions can range from 15 to 60 minutes
  • Health care funds and insurance companies may offer rebates for yoga.

What to expect in a class/session:

Although TCTSY employs physical forms and movements, the emphasis is not on the external expression or appearance (i.e. doing it "right".  Rather, the focus is on the internal experience of the participant.   By focusing on the felt sense of the body to inform choice-making, TCTSY enables participants to restore their connection of mind and body and cultivate a sense of agency that is compromised as a result of trauma. 

  • NO touch or physical assists or adjustments

  • Invitational Language

  • Different options and complete choice over what you do with your body, e.g. option to use to do part or all of the session in a chair

  • Participants don't have to talk to others

TCTSY can help people to:

  • Safely begin to connect to their body and their breath

  • Learn to be present and create rhythms

  • Make choices and experience taking effective action
