Trauma Sensitive Yoga workshops

For yoga teachers and mental health practitioners, Edwina’s workshops in Trauma Centre Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) lay the foundations for a more trauma informed approach to healing.

Trauma Sensitive Yoga is a body-led therapy that can play an important part in an individual’s pathway to healing. Developed by the Justice Resource Institute’s Trauma Center in Brookline, Massachusetts, Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga (as it is officially known, or TCTSY), has been shown through empirical research to reduce the symptoms of complex trauma and PTSD.

Training in TCTSY is a valuable extension for yoga teachers, health professionals and mental health workers who wish to provide a body and breath-based treatment option as part of their services.

Edwina is currently the only licensed trainer in TCTSY in Queensland covering QLD, NSW and NT. Read more about Edwina’s experience in TCTSY here.

If you would like to offer people you work with a way of deepening their recovery through embodied healing and TCTSY, Edwina offers extensive training for practitioners.

 Testimonials

“An amazing training experience…”

I would like to thank you for such an amazing training experience. You really made me feel welcome and the space you created felt safe and so accepting. I absolutely loved the whole experience and would love to expand on what I have learnt with the certificate course next September.

LAURA, COUNSELLOR, BRISBANE

“So considerate and compassionate…”

Your training workshop really helped me to discover what invitational language is about and why relationship safety is key in this type of work. I was so impressed with your way of facilitating the workshop and how you very clearly and simply presented quite complex topics. Also, your caring manner – so considerate and compassionate – giving us the right amount of space to integrate, engage and have pauses in between. So, boundless gratitude, Edwina.

PRIYADARA, INTEGRAL YOGA & MEDITATION TEACHER, NEW ZEALAND

“Wonderful opportunity to grow…”

Thank you for the workshop – the time, the effort, the extensive material and the wonderful opportunity to grow towards this light. I found the workshop informative, specific and supportive.
